With over 13 years of experience working in various government roles (Aboriginal Law Services and Public Prosecution Service Office for the Government of Canada and at Alberta Justice and Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee in the Alberta Public Service), Pilar has a proven record in serving vulnerable persons.

Pilar is truly a compassionate and dedicated advocate for her clients. She has volunteered in Montreal with Maison Flora Tristan, as president of the Board of Director of CPE La Bergerie and as an interpreter for Latin American Judges. Once moving to Calgary, Pilar continued with her commitment in helping immigrants. She assisted the Calgary Women’s Centre as ESL instructor, and as Interpreter and Translator Calgary Immigrant Aid Society serving women victims of violence and immigrants.

Clients from Africa, South and Central America, Asia and the Middle East have benefited from extraordinary and compassionate work, Pilar is well versed in international geopolitical realities and diverse cultural backgrounds. Pilar is grateful to Canadians who welcomed her as a child refugee and wishes to help newcomers experience the benevolence and generosity of Canada’s multicultural society.

In her free time, Pilar loves spending time with her children and grandchildren, driving on road trips and getting to discover Canada’s diversity and beautiful scenery.
